O's take 2 of 3 from Pale Hose

GAME 1 - O's 4, Chisox 3 - Tied 3-3 and heading into the top of the ninth Baltimore needed something big to happen and Ken Singleton delivered a solo shot to make it four - three O's.   Grant Jackson came to close it out in the bottom of the ninth and pitched a perfect inning to notch the save, as the Baltimore Orioles won a close one in Comiskey.

GAME 2 - Chisox 5, O's 4 - Another nailbiter, this time favoring the pale hose, headed into the bottom of the ninth tied it up for four all.  All of the action started with with two outs as Pat Kelly singled and  Jerry Hairston walked to put runners on first and second.  Jorge Orta delivered an RBI single for a  walk off win off of Tippy Martinez who came on in relief of Denny Martinez (no relation) in the 8th.

GAME 3 - O's 6, Chisox 1 - The rubber match of the series was very much anti-climactic as the Orioles won easily 6-1 pounding out 12 hits.  Chisox starter Stan Bahnsen was barely effective effective in four innings for the for the Southsiders, while Mike Cuellar went the distance giving up just one run on three hits in nine innings of work for the O's.  Dick Allen hit a solo homerun for the losing team while Baltimore featured a balanced attack.  4 Oriole players had 2 or more hits with Brooks Robinson going three for four with two RBIs and playing his usual gold glove defense at the hot corner.
