Week 5 - Cincy takes 2 of 3 from Bucs

GAME 1
Gullet vs. Blass
An ESPN Instant Classic for sure.......Blass only last 1 2/3 innings as the Cincy bats take off.  Cincy jumps to an early 5-2 lead only to see the Bucs battle back and tie the game.  The game heads into extra innings when Cincy pulls it out in 11.  The Pirates used 7 pitchers in the losing effort.  The Reds were paced by Perez, Morgan, and Rose who all homered.  Cincy wins 7-6.
GAME 2
Ellis vs. Nolan
Dock Ellis Pitches a strong 7 innings and giving up only two runs.  He also contributes at the plate by going 2-3 with 3 RBIs.  Richie Hebner knocks in 3 himself as the Bucs bats come alive.  Pirates win 9-4.  Rose goes 3-5 with another HR in a losing effort.
GAME 3
Reuss vs. Seaver
Another ESPN Classic.....as Seaver pitches 8 strong innings giving up only 2 runs to earn his 4th win.  Bench, needing a rest at catcher, was replaced by Bill Plummer.  The Reds didn't miss a beat as Plummer proceeds to step to the plate with one on in the bottom of the 6th and his Reds tied 2-2.  Plummer proceeds to smash his 1st HR of the year and puts the Reds up to stay.  Plummer goes 2-3 with a HR and 2 RBIs.  Hall saves the ninth for the Reds who hold on for a 4-3 win to take the series 2 games to one.
